Finding Peace in the Fullness
Life has been a little too full lately—cardiac rehab, homeschooling two middle schoolers, helping with my mom’s care, supporting Burwell in ministry, keeping up with the house, meals, dogs, friends, and the world around me. Some days I feel like there’s no room left just to be still.
But when my plate feels too full, that’s usually when the Lord whispers, “Come sit with Me.” So today, I paused to write—something I haven’t done in a while but deeply need. Writing has always been a place where God meets me. It’s part of how He wired me, and when I lean into that, peace returns.
Maybe your “writing” looks different. Maybe it’s gardening, baking, creating, teaching, or simply sitting in silence. Whatever brings you back to His presence is where peace and joy begin to grow again.
I can’t erase my responsibilities, but I can choose to operate from a place of peace. And when I do, joy flows again—right into every other part of life.
“Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him.” — Psalm 37:7
